A woman has a 60-80% chance of becoming infected with gonorrhea if having unprotected sex with an infected male. About one million people are diagnosed with gonorrhea each year in the United States. 10% of men and 20-40% of women infected with gonorrhea are asymptomatic. 90% of people who acquire gonorrhea in the throat are asymptomatic.
